Fort Lauderdale Intracoastal dinner cruise: the $80 boat ride to dinner

Dinner cruises
In short: one Fort Lauderdale operator runs a dinner cruise, the Intracoastal Waterway Dinner Cruise at $80 per person. It departs from Bahia Mar, travels up the Intracoastal to Bokamper’s Bar & Grille (3.78 miles away), includes a full dinner and complimentary drinks both ways, and holds up to 12 passengers. It has no rating and no reviews. Our own check: the 2.5-hour listing is mostly the drive — about an hour each way with dinner in the middle.

What you get for $80

The cruise runs 2.5 hours total, leaving from Bahia Mar A-Dock (look for the red, white and blue parasail boat behind the Sushi Song kiosk). You cruise north up the Intracoastal Waterway about an hour to Bokamper’s Bar & Grille in Coral Ridge, have dinner there, then cruise back to Bahia Mar. Drinks are complimentary both ways. You choose your entree ahead of time, not at the dock.

The actual route

Bokamper’s sits 3.78 miles straight-line north of A-Dock up the Intracoastal — call it four and a half miles by water. Hugh Taylor Birch State Park sits 2.23 miles up that same run, which is the landmark the listing names you pass. So the ride is roughly an hour of cruising north, dinner on land, then an hour back, not 2.5 hours on the water. That is exactly what the operator’s own wording suggests if you read the fine print carefully. The point of stating it is that you are paying for a guided dinner trip, not a long evening cruise.

Arrival and check-in

Arrive 30 minutes before departure. The operator says "check-in 30 minutes early for a waiver" — there is no way to contact the boat to ask it to wait if you are late. Latecomers are not refunded. A digital waiver goes to you before the trip and must be signed.

Parking and getting there

Bahia Mar offers parking at "approximately $10" according to the operator’s listing; prices move. The cruise does not include parking. Other parking options are the Fort Lauderdale Beach municipal lot or valet, or have the operator drop you at a specific rideshare pickup spot instead.

Group size and private options

The public booking holds up to 12 passengers. A private option exists; contact the operator through GetYourGuide if your group is larger or you want the boat to yourself.

Comparing to other Fort Lauderdale sunset cruises

The dinner cruise is one of six bookable Fort Lauderdale sunset cruises. The $55 downtown cruise is shorter (2 hours) and cheaper, includes parking and hotel pickup, and has 61 reviews versus zero for the dinner cruise. For sunset without the dinner, the $1,605 private charter lets you pick the departure time and control when the sunset hits your boat.

Frequently asked questions

Is this a real sunset cruise?

Not primarily. You leave Bahia Mar before sunset and return after dark. Sunset is somewhere in the middle of dinner on land at Bokamper’s, not on the boat. Dinner is the main event here, and the boat ride is the bookend.

What if I don't like the entree options?

You choose your meal ahead of time, before the trip. BYOB rules do not apply; it is a sit-down dinner at Bokamper’s with their regular menu. If the options do not suit you, this is not the cruise for you.

Can I bring friends and make a group discount?

The GetYourGuide listing holds 12 people, and you can book more than one seat at once — calculate how many people and book that many tickets as a group. Private options for larger groups are available; use the contact option on the GetYourGuide page.

What if weather cancels the trip?

Cancellations happen, especially in summer thunderstorm season. GetYourGuide offers free rescheduling on most tours, including this one. Check the booking terms for the specific date you book.

How is this different from the $55 downtown cruise?

Very different. The downtown cruise is a sightseeing boat with drinks and a DJ. The dinner cruise is a boat ride to a restaurant with a meal included. The downtown cruise runs 2 hours for $55. The dinner cruise runs 2.5 hours for $80 and is mostly the water taxi to the restaurant. The downtown cruise has 61 reviews; the dinner cruise has zero.

When is sunset, and will I see it?

Sunset ranges from 5:28 PM in late November to 8:16 PM in late June. You will be at Bokamper’s during sunset, not on the water. If watching the sunset on a boat is your main goal, book one of the other cruises instead.

Can I book same-day?

GetYourGuide’s availability calendar is the authority. This is a new listing with no reviews, so advance booking is recommended.
